The Vaughan Williams Memorial Library is the most important folk music and dance research resource in England. Our unique collection contains over 20,000 printed items dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, 10,000 audio items, 15,000 photographs and 30 major manuscript collections, cine-films, ephemera and artefacts – including line drawings, paintings, phonographs and costumes.

Since its foundation in 1930, the Library has greatly benefitted from the support of numerous individuals, trusts and organisations. This generosity has helped to maintain and develop the library to the extent that it has now achieved a unique status within the libraries and archives sectors. If you would like play a role in supporting the VWML’s work, there are a number of ways you can help us.
