1877 The Fox
The fox went out one moonlight night
And begged of the moon for to give him light
For he'd many many miles to go that night
Before he came to the downs O.
And then he came x unto the hill
The bugle sounded loud & shrill
Ha Ha said he there's music still
Before I come to the Downs O.
And when he came into the wood
Upon his two hindlegs he stood
A little bit of goose would do me good
Before I come to the town O.
And then he said unto his wife
The tablecloth spread my dearest life
While I cut up the goose with my pocket knife
And the little ones scramble for the bones O.
