Exploring Musical Resemblance, 10 and 11 October 2020
Organised by the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library at the English Folk Dance and Song Society.
The third Traditional Tunes and Popular Airs conference will run as an online event, using Zoom.
The conference aims to bring together researchers working on ‘traditional’ and ‘popular’ tunes as transmitted and transformed in all manner of musical styles and genres, performance contexts, levels of society, historical periods, and geographical locations.
We have a fantastic line up of presentations, highlighting the chameleonic lives of traditional and popular tunes, as they are sung, played, arranged, transformed and written down, in different times, places and circumstances.
All the presentations are pre-recorded. Conference bookers will be able to access them online from 1 October.
