Two collections of Ralph Vaughan Williams' papers are included in the Full English project: his Folk Song collection at the British Library (referred to in the Full English as RVW2), and the smaller collection at the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library (RVW1).
RVW1 Ralph Vaughan Williams' folk song papers held at the English Folk Dance & Song Society. These are arranged as follows: RVW1/1 comprises mainly correspondence and song texts, mostly written by people other than Vaughan Williams. Some may be from other collectors, but others are clearly in the hand of the singers from whom Vaughan Williams noted the song, or their families. RVW1/2 contains mainly tune notations. RVW1/3 is Vaughan Williams' broadside collection comprising 84 items.
RVW2 Ralph Vaughan Williams' folk song papers held at the British Library. This collection consists of three thick bound octavo volumes (RVW2/1 to RVW2/3), one bound quarto volume (RVW2/4), six small unbound ms books (one quarto and five octavo) (RVW2/5 to RVW2/10), and four loose sheets of ms paper (RVW2/11). The three octavo volumes each contain a number of small oblong manuscript books bound together. The corresponding British Library catalogue numbers are: Add MS 54189-54191 | Add MS 59535 A-M | Add MS 59536.
